Bristol actuators are small, lightweight and inexpensive. They are very adaptable for use in positioning devices or for controlling throttles and valves. Two decades of operational experience in a wide range of environments has proven the durability of these actuators.
Bristol actuators are made of composite materials. They mount in any position and are available in two styles, the B2 series and the B3 series.
They operate on 10-14 Volts DC at a very low current level. When activated they push or pull with up to 40 lbs (18 kg) of force. As this thrust is generated by means of a jackshaft (the B2 series) or a jackscrew (the B3 series), the output shaft will lock in any position when the electrical power is off. Voltage polarity determines the direction of travel. Bristol actuators will automatically turn off when their travel limit has been reached.
These internal limit switches can also be wired for use as an end of travel positioning signal. An internal linear potentiometer is also an option. Bristol S.G. has many different types of compatible position indicators available in our Accessory Items section. |
